How are Kit Hire shoot days and prices calculated?
Learn about pricing, kit hire days, shoot days, multi-day discounts, the full-week rule and weekend discounts.KitHouse aims to offer great value; here’s how our pricing works:
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Days: No Charge
Kit Hire pick-up and drop-off days are not counted as shoot days and are intended for checking, prepping, and transporting your hired equipment. These days are not meant for shooting unless you book your Kit Hire pick-up, drop-off, and shoot day all on one single day.
Shoot Days: Kit Hire Cost Based on Usage
The kit hire cost is calculated based on the number of shoot days, excluding pick-up and drop-off days. Shoot days are the days you'll actively be using the equipment.
Example for One to Three Kit Hire Days: You'll be charged at the one-shoot-day rate for a standard one-day shoot over three kit hire days.
Here's the breakdown:
Day 1: Kit Hire pick-up day - Pick up 2 pm or later - Free of charge
Day 2: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day.
Day 3: Kit Hire return day - Return by 10 am - Free of charge
Example for Three-Day Shoot Kit Hire Days: For a standard three-day shoot hire over five days, you'll be charged at the three-shoot-day rate.
Here's the breakdown:
Day 1: Kit Hire pick-up day - Pick up at 2 pm or later - Free of charge.
Day 2: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day.
Day 3: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day.
Day 4: Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day.
Day 5: Kit Hire return day - Return by 10 am - Free of charge
Multi-day Discounts:
Equipment Hire: Multi-day discounts DO apply toward equipment rentals.
Weekend Discount Rule: Weekends Count as One and a Half Days. We offer a weekend discount where weekends are charged as one-and-a-half shoot days (Saturday + Sunday).
Example: If your shoot days fall on Saturday and Sunday, with pick-up on Friday and drop-off on Monday, you'll only be charged for one-and-a-half days.
Here's the breakdown:
Day 1 (Friday): Kit Hire pick-up day - Pick up 2 pm or later - Free of charge
Day 2 (Saturday): Shoot day - Charged for one shoot day
Day 3 (Sunday): Shoot day - Free of charge
Day 4 (Monday): Kit Hire return day - Return by 10 am - Free of charge
The Full-Week Discount Rule: We offer a weekly discount like many rental houses. If you hire the kit for 6 to 7 days, you'll only be charged 3 days.
The full-week rule applies to up to 7 days of the kit being in your possession, meaning picking up on Monday and returning on Monday (at the standard pick-up/drop-off times) falls within the full-week rule.
